The middle

Billy, like me, was an only child.  Billy's birthday is in August and when he turns 37, we will be the same age until I turn 38 in Oct.  He always teases me that I will reach 40 before he will :).  We talked about the people that we dated right off the bat.  He told me that I was the third girl he dated from eharmony.  Even though the first two were just a one time date.  One did not like him because he did not buy her dinner or snacks at the movie theater.  He had all his bills coming due at once and it was just bad timing.  The second girl got scared and thought he was moving way too fast by giving her flowers.  He smiled at the thought that when he got me flowers for our first date by ourselves, I was really excited to get them.  I never expected him to buy me anything when we went to the movies.  I just liked spending time with him.
I told him that I went out with a few guys but they only were a one time only deal.  After the first date we were through.  I dated two guys from the church that I attended and both were jerks.  One guy used me for money and the other just wanted to be a homebody and did not want to be seen out in public together.  I want to be seen out in public together, it makes me feel special that he is honored to have me by his side.
When we were dating, if Billy sold puppies and I helped me by playing with them then he would split the money with me.
Luke 23 is about Jesus' trial before Pilate and Herod.  You know the story, Herod sent Jesus back to Pilate and the people yelled crucify him.  Even though He had very little strength left, He found some and cried out "Father, forgive them for they know not what they do." (Luke 23:34).  Luke 24 deals with His resurrection and how he appeared to the disciples.  He was first seen by Mary Magdalene and then she went and told the disciples that the Lord had risen just like He said He would.
What faith to have in Jesus.  I believe He is who He said He was and did what He said He would do.  I believe it all, that Jesus can wash away my sins and make me whole again.  I am thankful for His mercy and the many blessings that He has given to me.  I praise Him because He is so very worthy of all my praise and worship.
Thank you for reading and be blessed.

The beginning

In every fairy tale, you have a beginning, a middle and an end.  Your love life is no different.  The beginning before the two of you met, the middle is dating the other person and the end is life after marriage.  So, for my fairy tale, we will look at the beginning.  Most of you know my story, so I won't bore you with that again.  There are things that you may not know, for instance, I was born with a dislocated hip.  That simply means that I did not have a bone in my hip joint. Somehow, I ended up with an extra bone somewhere and they stuck it in the hip joint.  Some of you may or may not know that I am an only child.  I may have had mom and dad's attention but all I really wanted was their time.  They were always too busy to spend time with me or include me in things, for fear that I would ruin their plans.
As I got older, my mom realized that time was slipping away and I would be on my own sooner than what she thought.  So she gave me what I wanted and that was her time.  We grew close as I got older.  My mom was my best friend, someone I could go to when I had a problem.  Now that I am married, I don't talk to her about personal things anymore, I go to God and I go to my husband.
We have a tradition during the holidays that we like to do and that is to go and look at Christmas decorations.  This year, I am taking pictures of those decorations so that we can remember the fun of getting out in the cold and driving around different towns and seeing all the beautiful houses that are all lit up.  We stop at McDonald's or the truck stop and get two hot cocoas and then we take off.  We usually don't go very far, just far enough to see some decorations and then come home.  But this is what makes Christmas special and that is all the memories that we have and all the fun we had while making those memories.

Love story

I don't have all the answers, but what I do know is that in order for things to work out, you have to keep Christ first in everything that you do.  Without Him as the foundation, pieces won't fit together and you will end up with a jumbled mess.  Before Billy and I even met, I prayed for him.  I prayed that he would be like me, waiting for the right one to come along.  I got my wish.  He was waiting for me.  He told me that the last girl he dated before me got scared when he got her flowers.  I told him that I liked getting flowers.  Some of the guys that I dated, never got me flowers and I felt that they did not appreciate me at all.  Now, Billy doesn't get me flowers all the time, he thinks about it but doesn't because of the animals.  That will change once we fix up the barn.  Then he won't have an excuse not to buy me flowers.  We go through seasons in our lives, I know that winter has just started, I can't wait to see how this season plays out.  When He is first in your life, things look a whole lot brighter and you look forward to what life has in store for you.
Times go by really fast, the older I get.  Christmas is almost here again.  Spring will be coming and Billy and I will have been married for 2 years.  I can honestly say that this year has been our year.  We have spent a lot of time talking and listening to one another.  I have grown so much in the last year, I am trying to be the wife I need to be.  I try to help out and do things to please him.  I know that he likes it when he comes home and I tell him all the things that I got done for us.
Thanks for reading and be blessed.

Having God write your love story

At first I did not know what that meant.  Not until I bought the book, When God writes your love story, it's by Eric and Leslie Ludy.  It's how they met and how God wrote their love story.  Everybody has a different story to tell how they met their guy or girl.
I had tried dating a couple of times and failed miserably at it, when I started reading this book and prayed that God would write my love story.  Little did I know that all I had to do was get on eharmony and start asking Billy questions.  He was really persistent in answering me back.  Before I knew it we were planning on meeting that Sunday (Dec. 30, 2007).
When I first met him, all I could do was smile.  I was hoping that would break the ice and help me to be able to talk to him.  We went to lunch and then went bowling after.  I had a couple of friends who went with us and then later that night, he called me and we both said that we had a good time and wanted to go out again.  I asked him to go with me to a new years eve party and he came and then he came down that Friday night for my boss's 50th birthday surprise party.  Then we were on our own.  Saturday night he took me to cloak n dagger in columbus.  It was a dinner theatre place.  That was when we both knew that the other was the one.  He surprised me that night and got me flowers.  None of the other guys that I dated did that.  See, Billy made me feel special and he still does since we are now married.  He tells me often that I look pretty in whatever I am wearing.  I could be wearing jeans and a tshirt and he would still tell me that I look good.
He compliments my cooking and lets me know that it turned out ok or it didn't .  I simply believe that my husband can do anything as long as he tries first.  I had a saying that I taught the kids that I worked with "Can't couldn't do anything because can't didn't try."  That was all that I asked the kids to do was at least make an attempt to do it, if they still couldn't get it then I would help them.  Somethings I can't help Billy with and somethings he can't help me with.  Those are reserved for God himself.  That is what I love about my husband.  He and I can talk about things and I know that he would never use big words that I could not understand.
Billy and I were engaged on May 30th, 2008.  We decided that we would wait until 2009 to get married.  We got married May 16th.  I will never forget that day.  That was my special day and I wanted to be a princess.  The tiara I wore came from a friend that I was having bible study with.  She had gotten us all tiaras and they were to remind us that we were princesses.  That day, I was Cinderella, the only difference was I was not going to change into raggedity clothes and clean.  We had decided that we were only going to be gone four days.  We went to kings Island for our honeymoon.  Left Saturday and came back on Tuesday.  We had a good time.  Monday we went and played putt putt, since we had gone to the amusement park on Sunday.  I will never forget looking at Billy standing at the altar with Pastor John and smiling at him as I was coming down the aisle :)
Thank you for reading and for allowing me to share my story with you.  God Bless
